Grateful for God's guidance
God has been a constant support to me and my family. Healings that we have had include headaches, stomach problems, bee stings, burns, in addition to employment, protection against colds, flu, and so much more.
I am especially grateful for God's guidance. In the summer of 1995, in order to finish school, I planned to move with our son while my husband stayed where we had been living and worked to support us. Although my prayer and Bible study kept leading me to the idea that we should not separate, I didn't see any other way to complete my education. As the time came for me to make final arrangements for housing, my husband got a call from an old school buddy with a job offer. Within a month we had sold our house and moved near a school that offered a degree in my field of interest. We were all able to stay together.
Another healing for which I am very grateful happened about a year after the move. Our son, Joel, fell at the park, hitting his elbow. After getting him home comfortably and into bed, I talked to him about God's loving care, I sang hymns, and told him about God's healing presence. I then called a Christian Science practitioner to ask for treatment through prayer. When Joel got up, things were much better. However, he was still having difficulty moving his arm. We had made special plans to go play with friends that next day. We agreed to go, but made sure that he understood that he should only do what he was comfortable doing. I watched him carefully and supported him with prayer and love, both specifically as he played with his friend that day and during the following days.
