Living alone? Treat yourself as a guest

After thirty-five years of marriage and raising a family, she became a widow. All her children were grown, and within a year the last of them had left the family home. For the next thirty years, my mother lived alone. Yet she did it with such remarkable grace that she was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

We should treat ourselves with the same caring hospitality with which we treat others.
