This month J. Thomas Black, C.S.B., of Birmingham, Michigan, begins serving as President of The Mother Church. A Christian Science practitioner and teacher, Mr. Black has also served as Committee on Publication for Michigan and as a Trustee of The Christian Science Publishing Society.
The Trustees have elected Karen Craft, C.S., of Kapolei, Hawaii, to join them as Trustee, following Mr. Black's resignation in order to assume his new post. Now a Christian Science practitioner, Ms. Craft has also served as Manager of Employment/Employee Relations and as Manager of Administration and Planning for the Clerk's Office.
If you've heard about Christian Science and are wondering what it teaches, there's a book that gives the complete and definitive explanation. It's Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. The Bible and this book serve as the pastor of The Mother Church and its branches throughout the world. The healing message of Science and Health is for all mankind. The book is available in English, in English, in English Braille, and in Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. You can borrow or purchase it from any Christian Science Reading Room or order directly from the Publisher, the Writings of Mary Baker Eddy; One Norway Street; Boston, MA 02115–3122 U.S.A.
