When my second child, a boy, was born fifteen years ago, he was diagnosed with clubfeet by the physicians at the hospital. Within a couple of weeks of his birth he was put into plaster casts that were changed as he grew. This went on until he was eleven months old. Up until this time the doctors felt his feet would eventually form, and they hoped he would be able to stand on his own two feet and walk. During this time I continued to take him to the nursery at our local Christian Science church, while I attended church services. Also my mother-in-law, who was a Christian Science practitioner, had always assured me he could be healed.
When it was time for my son to have his final leg casts removed, in August, my mother-in-law agreed to take him for his doctor's appointment, since I was working full time and unable to take time off from work. The doctor regretfully informed her that nothing had changed, and he recommended surgery. He also told her at this time that he couldn't guarantee anything even after the surgery.
