I need not react
Fear
frustration
painted angry words
in ugly tones.
Yet I sat calm
bathed in understanding
first time truly seen:
I
need not react.
I saw ... I felt ...
God, Love, has given me
this perfect gift—
dominion,
not misshapen sharp reaction.
I reflect Love's purity.
I never need again react.
Instead, reflect—
Love's reflection.
So redefined
to yielding thought,
filled
with Thanksgiving song,
I rejoiced as friend
began to laugh
at whole outrageous scene
—a dream, a lie
that neither Truth nor Love
had known.
Then, on we went
in newfound harmony,
with each refreshed
in holiness.
So, Scripture's proved
once more—
"Great peace have they
which love thy law:
and nothing
shall offend them." Ps. 119:165 .
