In December 1994, I injured myself during a rainy-day visit to the weight room. I had failed to change the heaviest weight setting on a leg machine. When I used the machine, I felt something pull in a trouble spot that had pained me off and on during the year.
One of the things I learned from this experience is to not ignore any thought of inharmony. The Bible instructs us in Second Timothy, "Be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine" (4:2). I began to concentrate on filling my thoughts with the reality of God's perfect man, which Christ Jesus proved in his healing work, and on dismissing injury, pain, and discomfort. I knew that as God's reflection my true nature is spiritual and does not include anything unlike Him.
