For several years I experienced discomfort from a hernia
For several years I experienced discomfort from a hernia. For me, it seemed study of Christian Science was without healing results, and I had an operation at a local hospital.
But about a year later the same difficulty appeared in a different place. Though a simple operation appeared to be an option once again, I began to reason this out; if I were to resort to surgical means, there would be no spiritual progress. I could not be certain of permanent healing. What a loss that would be!
Because Christian Science makes plain the fallacy of an anthropomorphic God—a God who is cognizant of matter—it is therefore practical to look to spiritual means for healing. It is not difficult, then, after putting one's faith in God, to accept the fact as stated in Genesis that "God created man in his own image" (1:27). God is Truth, and the truth of God corrects and heals uninterruptedly.
