Cellular phones, home shopping television shows, frequent flier mileage, automatic breadmaking machines. Commercials for athletic shoes, notebook computers, child-care alternatives, megastores, cocooning, and laser discs. For many, these are some of the signposts of contemporary life. And even areas of the world judged "underdeveloped" five years ago are feeling the march of technological progress.
Yet, contemporary life really finds context and perspective only through increased, genuine spirituality. Is that surprising? In the following pages of the Sentinel, people explore this and other ideas that are more than just surprising. They are healing.
