Dissolving shadows
The darkness of evil always gives way to the light of Truth.
Someone once asked me if I had read an article about the metamorphosis of a shadow. I had not, but the idea captured my interest. I knew that caterpillars metamorphose into butterflies, but I had never thought of the word in connection with shadows. I looked up the definition in the dictionary and found metamorphosis to mean change in form or appearance. A shadow is defined as "a definite area of shade cast upon a surface by a body intercepting the light rays."
A shadow has no real substance. It has no intelligence to create itself, no power to do harm. It changes form and disappears as it is exposed to light.
The dark shadows cast by personal, local, national, or international challenges may hardly seem insubstantial. But when exposed to the light of spiritual understanding, to a clear perception of God's power and perfect government, they recede.
