"There is a lad here ..."
Sometimes the solution to our need is right in front of us—like the small boy with loaves and fishes who helped Jesus.
There is a well-known Bible story that tells how Christ Jesus fed several thousand people with just five loaves and two small fish. This large group had gathered in a remote place to hear Jesus preach, and when evening came he saw no reason to send them away. He wanted to provide food. But his disciples despaired of feeding so many.
"Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them," said Philip.
"There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?" added Andrew, another disciple. How easy it might have been for Jesus to ignore what that boy offered!
