It had rained earlier that morning
It had rained earlier that morning. All the fourth graders were out at recess. I was walking with one of my friends. We came to a slide and I jumped up on the end of it. As I jumped onto the slide, my feet went out from under me and my stomach hit the slide very hard, taking my breath away.
My friend helped me up and walked me to a teacher. She sent me to the nurse's office. The nurse asked me what had happened and how I felt. I told her about the accident and said I felt faint and hot. My mom happened to be working at the school that day, so the nurse went and found her.
I wanted to go home. The nurse agreed that was a good idea, and she suggested that we might want to call a Christian Science practitioner because she knew that's what we would want.
