I first drank alcohol in my freshman year in high school
I first drank alcohol in my freshman year in high school. Everyone else was doing it, and so I did too.
While in college I drank with my friends regularly. All of our social activities seemed to include alcohol in one way or another, often in great quantities. While I would not say this was ever a problem of actual physical dependency, drinking was certainly a very important part of my life.
Toward the end of my undergraduate years, I began questioning more critically the dominant influences in my life. Some seemed to show great promise for the future, while others seemed to be holding me down like a lead weight.
