God's man: a quality product

Our true nature is much more wonderful than we may have supposed. Each day provides a fresh opportunity to prove that fact.

During the past decade many companies around the world have begun to focus on improving the quality of the products or services they provide to the public. An entire industry of quality experts has sprung up to meet this need. The experts require their business clients to engage in a method called the "quality process," designed to enable employees at all levels to do a better job.

For several years my husband was deeply involved in selecting and introducing into his company an appropriate quality improvement program. During that time I often heard the experts' definition of quality: "conformance to requirements."

I was unexpectedly reminded of this definition recently when doing some Bible research on a passage from the book of Proverbs: "He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour." I could see that there was a connection between conforming to God's requirements and living a quality life. It occurred to me that the effort to bring more right thinking and right acting into one's daily experience could be thought of as a kind of spiritual quality process.
