I would like to express my gratitude for the many proofs of God's care I have experienced through Christian Science.

In 1961, when the Berlin Wall was constructed, those of us who lived in the eastern part of the city were no longer able to attend services at Christian Science branch churches in the western part of the city. We felt somewhat abandoned and wished very much to be in touch with Christian Scientists. This desire was fulfilled. After several years we got to know many dear friends who came regularly from the western part of the city to visit us and to share their healing experiences with us. Their love and care served as a wonderful example to us. We still remain in touch today, and I am very grateful for these friendships.

I would like to tell of a healing I experienced a few years ago. One day I discovered a growth behind one knee. Soon I could hardly walk, and I was put on sick leave and told that an operation would be necessary. During this time I did not take any medication; I only wore a bandage. I prayed to God and studied a lot in order to solve the problem through Christian Science. The pain stopped, and I was able to walk normally again; but the growth did not disappear. I then asked a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. She turned my thought to God and toward the spiritual reality of being, in which all is harmonious. Before long the growth disappeared, for which I am still very grateful today.
