No barriers to prayer
Even when we are in greatest need—and none of our friends can be there to help us—we, and they, can turn to God in prayer.
Have you ever found yourself or someone you love in a position so intractable that you could not get any help from your friends, neighbors, or the authorities? Perhaps even trying to enlist their help would seem utterly futile. Under such circumstances you would think, "My, this is hopeless!"
Perhaps you would reach out for some mighty wisdom, to that which you would call God. This is often our inclination in dire emergencies. Even someone who doesn't believe in God will sometimes resort to Him despite all the prior conviction of being an atheist. It is natural and sublime to reach out to God in prayer. Any language will suffice! And the Bible makes clear that God hears the fervent prayer of His children at any time. Time and space are no barriers.
The question of how you would pray now arises. In the Bible, James tells us, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." In other words, the prayer of a right-thinking individual does bring results.
