Travel without fear
If we're anxious about traveling, a perception of God's constant care can bring light and healing.
Many of us enjoy traveling. But some people are afraid to travel, fearing accidents or illness. Some believe they are physically unable to handle the rigors of traveling. While going distances may not be for everyone, and we can certainly enjoy the world through insightful books, television, or the movies, still we need not be imprisoned by fear.
If anxiety about traveling for any reason is holding you back, take heart; through God's love you can overcome that feeling. Christ Jesus clearly taught that fear is illegitimate. And the New Testament also tells us, in I John, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear." The Bible is full of statements that help us to overcome fear. In Psalm 27, for example, David tells of his trust in God to protect him from his enemies. Certainly we can look to our creator to deliver us from that enemy called fear. Coming to understand, through prayer and study of the Bible, that God's love really is present with each one of us—that as His spiritual image we're inseparable from Him—we can overcome fear of traveling.
