Murphy's law
"Murphy's Law" is often used as a catchall phrase for everything and anything that goes wrong. "If anything can go wrong, it probably will" is one of the premises of this so-called law.
I'd like to tell you about another version of "Murphy's law," one in which nothing did go wrong—and everything went right.
Murphy is a dark chestnut Morgan gelding. He was born on our farm and has been with us ever since. One day when I was going to take him from his stall to the pasture, I realized he could hardly step over the threshold of his doorway. He was reluctant to walk along with me. Usually he's doing everything he can to get ahead of me and be first to the pasture gate.
