Approximately twenty years ago, before I had become...
Approximately twenty years ago, before I had become a student of Christian Science, I underwent extensive medical examinations. I was then diagnosed as suffering from irregular brain wave patterns and began taking a daily dose of an anticonvulsive medication, which I was told I must continue taking for the rest of my life.
Years later, when I was reading the chapter entitled "Christian Science Practice" in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the recognition that God's spiritual man is innocent held special significance for me. I realized that I had to "trust in the Lord with all [my] heart; and lean not unto [my] own understanding" (Proverbs). I stopped taking the medication. Gradually, through the continued study of Christian Science, I grew in my understanding that true health is spiritual and God-given, never subject to impairment or disease. I was entirely healed. This occurred over eighteen years ago.
