Welcome mat
Listen.
Your brother man is knocking
at your door.
Will you let him in?
Or do you say, "No!
for you are full of sin."
Or, "You're different creed and skin—
No! you never can come in."
The knock continues
at the door of thought.
Open up your heart.
God's love is infinite:
one-size-fits-all—
no race too small—
come one, come all!
Love unprejudiced,
unexclusive, unprovincial,
opens wide the door.
Love all-embracing,
expansive, universal,
makes room for more.
The knock comes again.
"Yes, brother, come right on in—
my welcome mat is always out!
Come into the prayers of my heart.
Come in, please do.
Oh, yes—and bring the others, too!"
