Christian Science came into my life as the answer to my...
Christian Science came into my life as the answer to my childhood search for an understanding of God and my relationship to Him. I began reading a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
One of my first healings as a teen-ager was freedom from reliance on thyroxin, prescribed by a pediatrician when I was eleven years old because of stunted bone growth. There was some feeling that I would need to take medication for this condition during the rest of my life. When I found Christian Science, this and other medications were proved to be unnecessary, and I stopped taking them. My growth and bodily functions became normal. This healing came about after I began to understand man's true being as the perfect and complete spiritual idea of God, the one Mind, or Principle.
At the time of my entry to college, I was given a thorough medical examination. As I sat across from the physician who was writing up the report about me, I read the word pulmonary. The following week I received a letter summoning me to see the resident college doctor.
