One night I woke so ill that I could not even get up
One night I woke so ill that I could not even get up. I reached out to God for help. A recent testimony given at a Wednesday evening meeting at our branch church came to mind. The testifier had said, "Take even a little bit of spiritual truth that you understand, and really understand it." The following words from pages 470–471 of Science and Health came to mind: "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony ...." These words are part of a longer sentence, but that is all that came to me that night. [The full sentence states, "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history."]
I concentrated on the truth of my oneness with God as His idea and the fact that I didn't have to go back to health and harmony, because I had never truly been separated from the source of my health, God, perfect Life. I prayed without deviating from this truth until suddenly I experienced a great sense of enlightenment, and I was healed. It was an exalting experience.
A number of years ago my husband woke one morning and found that one side of his face was paralyzed. This resulted in a loss of feeling, seeing, tasting, and hearing on that side.
