As shepherds
As shepherds keep guard over straying flocks,
we must watch over our flock of thoughts.
For thoughts, like flocks, need watchful care.
Each morning lead them up with prayer
to heavenly heights where they can find
abundant sustenance of Mind.
Defend your thought flock every day.
Don't let your flock become a prey
nor scatter fearfully away.
Love will preclude aggressive harm.
Love's shelter keeps thoughts calm and warm.
In storm let the informing Soul
clothe thoughts, like sheep's rain-shedding wool.
For safety, rest, in wintry cold,
bring thoughts, like lambs, into Truth's fold.
The faithful shepherd's flock is blest
with peace and health and joyousness.
Shepherd, awake! New day has dawned.
The time to rouse your flock has come,
by Christianly scientific seeing,
to Principle, omniscient Being.
