Through my introduction to and early study of Christian Science I was gradually drawn to a new understanding of how to express spiritual truths. Although I was still a member of another denomination, I began to rely more and more on Christian Science because it just seemed the right way of thinking; it seemed so natural to expect good, health, and the provision to take care of needs, because God is the source of unlimited good. Later I became a member of The Mother Church.

One of my early healings that has stayed with me was the healing of pinkeye. I had met a very loving Christian Science practitioner who had shown sincere care for my well-being, and I asked her for help through prayer.

She stressed the fact of spiritual being. She explained to me that as we eliminate fear from our thought and understand that we are actually spiritual as God's perfect likeness, we will be freed from material difficulties. She also quoted these words of Christ Jesus (Matt. 6:22): "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light."
