I have depended upon Christian Science to meet all my needs for some seventy years. Although my husband was not a Christian Scientist, he read the Christian Science periodicals, occasionally attended my branch church and Christian Science lectures, and had no objection to my relying upon God for healing any needs of myself and our three children. The children all attended the Christian Science Sunday School until they were twenty years old, and they were healed of many physical difficulties, including measles, whooping cough, scarlet fever, and broken bones.

When our son was ten years old he had a healing that has been especially meaningful to me. One night when he was ill I was studying my Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy in search of an answer to his needs. At one point he came running out of his room with all the evidence of delirium. I was able to quiet and comfort him and put him back to bed. Then I prayed deeply.

I recommenced reading in Science and Health until I came to this passage (p. 214): "When it is learned that the spiritual sense, and not the material, conveys the impressions of Mind to man, then being will be understood and found to be harmonious." I could not seem to get past that statement; I pondered it until I felt I understood it.
