I Feel so much gratitude for the insight that Christian Science has given me into my relationship with God. My family and I have had many healings through Christian Science over the years, including those of work troubles, relationship difficulties, migraine, a sprained ankle, torn muscles, and severe deafness. But I should like to share one particular experience.

One morning I found that I was unable to get out of bed because of a severe pain in my back. On the third day of absence from work, I had to send a doctor's certificate to my employers stating the reason of absence. This was required by law at that time. The doctor said that it would be several weeks before I would be able to move normally I decided to work this problem out through Science, and I asked a Christian Science practitioner to give me prayerful support. The result of relying upon Christian Science for healing was fully realized a few days later when an emergency arose.

My daughter (who was a teen-ager at that time) decided to cook a meal as a surprise for me. The first knowledge I had of this came when my daughter's screams reached my ears. I leapt out of bed and ran downstairs to the kitchen. The pan that she had been using had caught on fire. She had tried to throw the pan into the adjoining garage and in doing this had spilled some hot fat over her leg. Also, the burning fat had started a fire in the garage.
