Having been raised in Christian Science, I have experienced...
Having been raised in Christian Science, I have experienced many healings, which have convinced me that God is Life. After graduating from high school, weekend work and college studies started to dominate my thought and time. For seven years I worked and attended college at various locations. I did not attend church very regularly, but thanks to what I had learned in the Christian Science Sunday School, I remained certain that God is the creator and preserver of man. I always turned to God for healing and help. In the last few years, Christian Science has gone from being a minor to a major part of my life as a result of healings and demonstrations I've had.
At one point, I anxiously accepted a job promotion. But I soon found the work unenjoyable and beyond my ability to handle. For two months I interviewed locally for other work, but without success. So I started interviewing far out of the town where I lived. One company I visited I desired to work for. However, the interview went poorly. The employment agency I was working with suggested I request a second interview. I did, and another interview was scheduled.
Even though I felt God's care when I prayed at this time, I wanted help in gaining confidence. So I visited a local Christian Science practitioner. He told me that God, not human persuasion, places us, and that the job was really already mine if that was the right spot for me. He said I could rely on the one Mind, God, to supply my thoughts and words. This relieved me of all tension. I asked for and received the practitioner's prayerful support until the interview was over.
