Patches learns a lesson
One day when Patches was just a puppy, he was playing on his own in the television room. Ellen, John, and their mother were working in other parts of the house. Suddenly Ellen noticed that Patches wasn't around and that he was being very quiet for an active puppy. She began to suspect he was up to some mischief!
At that moment there was a dull thud from the TV room. Ellen ran to find out what had happened and found Patches lying on the floor. He had bitten right through the electric cord and must have received a shock.
John came running down from his room and saw what had happened. They all wanted to help Patches—they thought he was dying. Ellen carefully unplugged the cord and John wrapped a blanket around the little dog. They realized that the puppy needed help—fast.
