"Be strong and of a good courage"

When faced with a serious problem, whatever its nature, the experienced student of Christian Science knows that he must be firm and strong in his stand for Truth. A weak or vacillating attitude will not overcome the difficulty.

Moses indicated the kind of spiritual outlook one needs. Near the end of his career he told the children of Israel how they could successfully finish their journey into the Promised Land in spite of all the dangers they would encounter. He said, "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."Deut. 31:6.

Moses had led his people out of slavery in Egypt, through the Red Sea and the desert wilderness, to within sight of the Promised Land. He had proved by his own successful leadership that a strong, courageous stand for God's omnipotence was needed if they were to make their home in that land of "milk and honey."
