I often contemplate the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. Now I submit this testimony as one more witness to the truth contained in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and with the hope that it may help another.

When I was divorced seventeen years ago, it was a difficult time for me in every way. Hymn No. 134 from the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins, "I look to Thee in every need,/And never look in vain" was truly a source of comfort. There seemed to be lack in all directions: no money, no confidence, dissolved friendships, fears for my children, pressure, and despair. But by my obeying and trusting God through study of the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy, the way did continually become more and more apparent, bringing blessing upon blessing for us all. I finally could say with joy (Hymn No. 134), "The thought of Thee is mightier far/Than sin and pain and sorrow are."

Once, many years ago, I suffered from a heavy cold, sore throat, and loss of voice. At the time, with great interest, I was reading the chapter "Recapitulation" in Science and Health. When I came upon these words (p.465), "Principle and its idea is one," I was struck by the singular verb "is." [The entire sentence reads: "Principle and its idea is one, and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Being, and His reflection is man and the universe."] Suddenly I saw so clearly the oneness—the unity—of God and His idea, man. Then a feeling of warmth came over me, and I found myself completely and instantly well.
