Are we listening for God's guidance?
If an individual has been unemployed in my home state for a period of time and is considered eligible, he can apply for unemployment compensation. Usually he's asked, "Are you ready, willing, and able to work—and are you looking?" If his answers are all in the affirmative, he may sign a statement to this effect and subsequently receive checks for a specified time.
From many heartening references in the Bible and in Mrs. Eddy's writings the student becomes aware that God is unfailing in His ever-presence and love. In the Bible, Christ Jesus advises, "Seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you." Luke 12:31. Mrs. Eddy gives further assurance with her words "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Science and Health, p.494.
God is always ready, and man expresses God's readiness. "The honest student of Christian Science is purged through Christ, Truth, and thus is ready for victory in the ennobling strife," Miscellaneous Writings, p.41. Mrs. Eddy assures us.
