Some time ago I was seized with severe pain around the heart area that made all bodily movement extremely painful while it lasted. Morever, it was very difficult for me to breathe deeply. I realized I had to do something quickly. So, right where I was I prayed to know that the one Mind, God, was ever present; and that I was God's reflection, not material but completely spiritual. I also affirmed that Mind's action is forever regular, perfect, painless. I clung to these truths of my real being and was further fortified by pondering "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468). It begins: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." In just a few minutes I felt free.
The attacks of pain occurred two or three more times, and each time I declared these truths. Now I don't even remember when healing came, because the problem simply left me. Nobody at work or at home knew about it. I might also add that I am a very active person and perform my daily duties with ease. Needless to say, I am deeply grateful for this healing, especially because it shows that we have the truth ever present to help us, no matter where we are.
Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 61): "The offspring of heavenly-minded parents inherit more intellect, better balanced minds, and sounder constitutions." This has certainly been proved in my family. While growing up, my brother, sister, and I experienced none of the so-called childhood diseases, and we are still blessed with good health.
