Faithful to Truth

Truth is the fountain that is free for us all to know, irrespective of where we are. Three times in her writings, Mrs. Eddy quotes Christ Jesus' statement, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32. Spiritual understanding of the truth sustains us in daily undertakings. Christian Science is teaching us that God is Truth and Life. This is attested by our knowing and living. Christ brings the truth of Truth to us. Really knowing the Christ and living it bring the blessing of freedom from error—from illusion, obstacles, lies, ignorance, sin, fear, falsity. We are consciously able to express the truth we know.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Pulpit and Press: "If the lives of Christian Scientists attest their fidelity to Truth, I predict that in the twentieth century every Christian church in our land, and a few in far-off lands, will approximate the understanding of Christian Science sufficiently to heal the sick in his name." Pul., p. 22. One comment on this passage notes: "Though there are wide divergences in doctrine, method, and scope among those who are now endeavoring to practice spiritual healing, their common aim is to heal the sick in Christ's name. To that extent at least, Mrs. Eddy's prediction is already being realized." A Century of Christian Science Healing (Boston: The Christian Science Publishing Society, 1966), p. 247 . Our beloved Leader's realization that Christian Science has the ability to heal the sick in Christ's name in this century is gathering cognizance and momentum.

Belief in materiality, in drugs, in mere human theory or conjecture, is scientifically yielding to God's idea. Christ Jesus, the Saviour and Way-shower, demonstrated divine Principle by healing all kinds of disease, reforming the sinner, and overcoming death.
