Health is attainable...
Health is attainable. However, good health comes to us not as the thing sought, but rather as the thing added, as in Christ Jesus' words, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33. These inspired words of our Master are more than a wonderful promise. They are the statement of a profound spiritual law.
Health is not an object to be pursued in and of itself. Why? Because real health is the natural state of spiritual man—something far more significant than the result of proper bodily functioning. Rather, proper bodily functioning accompanies the awakening to true health, or holiness.
Current research in preventive medicine includes a growing awareness that hatred, self-pity, hurt feelings, temper, and impatience can be contributing factors to disease. This recognition may be a step in the right direction but will not alone bring healing.
