You, wanted and needed now
Unemployment, divorce and lack of direction, bleak retirement—you don't have to accept such conditions as sad facts of life.
If we feel unwanted, unneeded, purposeless, then we have one basic need: to look at ourselves and our placement in a spiritually scientific way, instead of just in a mortal, falsely personal way. Having identified this central need, we can satisfy it through studying the textbooks of Christian Science and really thinking about the spiritual facts we find there. It doesn't have to take a long time to feel we are fitting into the scheme of things better. Because God is Love and is actually the author of man, there is no one reading this who cannot achieve a higher sense of being and purpose.
The point is, man is absolutely essential to Deity because effect is absolutely essential to cause. God and man coexist as eternal creator and eternal creation. What's not necessary is our feeling of being unneeded! It is not valid, because it stems from a mortal sense of man. We can put aside this false concept of ourselves that is behind unhappiness and suffering. Through taking the scientific view we can progressively shed the belief—and the appearance—that man is mortal, lonely, living out a birth-to-death span on a spinning material globe.
