The "elderly" ask and answer
Have we collected only years and scars?
These pale beside the triumphs Truth has wrung—
a larger view,
fresh humility,
the will to look to God as Mind and Love.
Are we worshiping only youth and time?
These fade before the agelessness of man—
perennial glow,
a Soul-sense, ever new,
an inner beauty that will never go.
Instead of scars and years we've gathered wisdom.
Above both time and youth we honor Life.
