One night in my eighty-eighth year, a relative found me on...
Senior years should be advancing years—not years of retreat. Several testifiers in this week's Sentinel speak of their advances.
One night in my eighty-eighth year, a relative found me on the floor of my bedroom, unconscious. I was suffering from a deep chest congestion and rasping out each breath with great difficulty. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and she immediately made arrangements for me to be taken to a nearby accredited nursing home for Christian Scientists. There I was promptly given the most skilled nursing care, which was to be continued with untiring commitment for the next three weeks. Meantime, the practitioner had continued to pray for me and to spend time at my bedside encouraging me to pray for myself.
