Where to Find Good

Are we searching for happiness and fulfillment, longing for a sense of joy and well-being that is not spasmodic and fleeting but permanent and present?

Good, Christian Science explains, is spiritual, derived from God only and is inherent in man, God's reflection. In the measure that happiness is found in God, the vicissitudes of human experience do not deplete our sense of the presence of enduring good.

All of us at one time or another have tried to find happiness in people or things. Often this proves frustrating, disappointing. As legitimate and as necessary as are a state of good health, satisfying companionship, a home, a job, none of these things of themselves are real sources of joy. However, these do come into our lives as we express purity, love, wisdom—the qualities of God. The void that results from looking to a material source for happiness can be filled only by spirituality of thought and living. God, divine Love, is the only genuine source of good.
