Science and Health—the Leaven of Truth

There could be no better time than this year to reflect on the deep debt of gratitude due Mrs. Eddy for sharing with mankind God's revelation to her. This revelation is written down in Science and Health—the Christian Science textbook—published a hundred years ago. During the great stir that is going on throughout the world at the present time there is a great need for the message of this book.

In our concern about national and international situations it is a comfort to recall Mrs. Eddy's words about Science and Health: "This book is the leaven fermenting religion; it is palpably working in the sermons, Sunday Schools, and literature of our and other lands. This spiritual chemicalization is the upheaval producedwhen Truth is neutralizing error and impurities are passing off."^{Pulpit and Press, pp. 5–6;}

Just think, this leaven has been working all these years since her discovery, steadily, surely! Also, Paul said, "Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?"^{I Cor. 5:6;}
