In loving hope that some young person may benefit from hearing of my encounters with social drinking, which started in my teens, and in humble gratitude to our Father-Mother God, who never leaves us floundering, with unspeakable love for and appreciation of Christian Science I wish to tell of a complete change in my life.
Our family attended a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, where I attended Sunday School when I was a little girl. It helped us through many rough spots during the Depression of the 1930's. However, we did not gain the true meaning of Mrs. Eddy's priceless gift. Later our home became the scene of many drinking parties; cocktails served before dinner were routine.
Throughout my business experience drinking was considered a way to relax after a hard day's work, often to be regretted the next day.
