To Get Help in Christian Science
People are often healed simply by reading the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. This healing is not supernatural. Christian Science explains that matter, disease, and discord are objectifications of mortal thought. So, in the proportion that a reader is inspired by the ideas of God's allness and the perfection of His universe contained in these two books, the change for the better in his thinking is reflected in a better life and body.
This improvement sometimes comes quite quickly after one has begun to study the teachings of Christian Science. But if some disease or discordant condition is slow in yielding, it is usually advisable to ask a Christian Science practitioner for help.
Practitioners are experienced students of this method of metaphysical healing who are devoting all or part of their time to assisting others. Those whose names are listed in The Christian Science Journal have undertaken to devote their full time to the healing work. They keep regular hours during which they are available for personal interviews, and, in cases of necessity, they are ready to receive calls for help on the telephone at other times. They get paid for their services at about the same rate that reputable local medical doctors in the neighborhood would expect to be paid on a similar case.
