Appreciating One Another

Christ Jesus showed us the power of Truth. He healed many people of disease, and he raised others and himself from the dead. Running through his teachings is the need to appreciate others. He preached forgiveness. He warned against being angry at a brother without a cause. He insisted that we love those who do not love us. And he said, "If ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?" Matt. 5:47;

Christian Science shows us that the basis for Jesus' healing works is the truth of man as the idea of infinite Mind. Mind is God, divine Love, and it includes all the intelligence, ability, originality, creativity, energy, and love we can ever see expressed by man individually or collectively. Limitations in any of these areas of Mind's expression are errors, lies about God that can be corrected when the truth is known. Disease of any nature is but one of these errors.

The truth of man is much more to us than an abstract statement of the perfection of God and the wholeness of man as His idea, or reflection. It includes the infinite individuality of Mind expressed in the talents we find in every individual.
