It is with heartfelt gratitude to God, and for the understanding of God and man as revealed in Christian Science, that I submit the following testimony.

Our grandchild, aged just over a year, was accidentally run over by her father one day with a small van. He immediately telephoned me for help, but I was not in the house at the time. He then called a doctor, and the child was taken by ambulance to a private hospital. I might add that although my son's wife is a student of Christian Science my son is not, but he believes in the efficacy of its healing power.

Half an hour later my son was able to contact me, and I immediately went to the hospital to give support to my daughter-in-law. The matron of the hospital gave us to understand that the injuries to the child's skull and lungs were so severe that she was not expected to live. We did not accept any of the medical predictions but prayed to understand that the child had never been in an accident, acknowledging that God knows nothing of accidents and she could not possibly stray from His love and care. We knew she was a spiritual idea in the Mind of God and so was safe and secure, that as a little child she was innocent of all wrong and could not suffer, that she could not die, for death is an illusion, and that being made in God's likeness, she was the reflection of eternal Life. We denied the physical symptoms and held to her spiritual state of perfection.
