Although I was brought up in Christian Science and had several healings as a child, I gradually drifted away from the teaching after I was married. And after a while I found I was always calling on a doctor for help for our two young children or myself. Also, during this period, I became full of secret fears, which tormented me day and night. And I was continually battling with a feeling of exhaustion. One day when I was resting on my bed during the afternoon, I suddenly asked myself what I was doing there and what sort of a state I had got myself into that as a young woman I should need to rest during the afternoon. This wakened me with a jerk, and I knew then that I had to find my way back to God through Christian Science.

I started to attend church services again, and I shall always remember with deep gratitude the loving welcome given to me by the members of that church, making me feel I had truly returned home. With the help of a dedicated Christian Science practitioner I gained a better understanding of God and His allness, and my fears began to melt away. I began to lead a more active life and felt stronger and happier than I had for several years. I soon joined The Mother Church and a branch church, where I was able to take an active part, and have continued to do so ever since.

I began to discover the joy of putting my small knowledge of Christian Science into practice day by day and learned to turn to God with all my problems. Through gaining a better concept of home, my husband and I were able to purchase a house which met all our needs at a time when we had little or no money. Lost articles were restored, and several physical healings took place. I was able to take a driving test without trepidation and pass the first time, confident in the knowledge that divine Mind was supplying me with all the necessary qualities of intelligence, alertness, competence, perception, and ability.
