It is a joy to bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science,...
It is a joy to bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science, which has blessed my experience for over fifty years. To glorify God and help my fellowmen is the incentive of this testimony.
In my very early experience difficult physical problems traced to self-will, self-love, self-justification, made life miserable. I seemed to be two different persons in one, moved by a great desire and longing for spiritual truth, and at the same time battling the downward gravitation of the material senses. Through the years, consecrated study of the Bible and of Mrs. Eddy's writings brought increased spiritual understanding resulting in a great degree of release from the bondage to carnality and bringing the joy of spiritual dominion. On page 118 of Miscellaneous Writings Mrs. Eddy says, "Be of good cheer; the warfare with one's self is grand; it gives one plenty of employment, and the divine Principle worketh with you,—and obedience crowns persistent effort with everlasting victory."
