The Dynamism of Love
Spiritual love is dynamic because it is the direct expression of God, omnipotent Mind or divine Love. Every quality of Love that we entertain and express is God-with-us, the very evidence of our oneness, or unity, with creative Principle. John tells us; "If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit." I John 4:12, 13;
John's writings show that he deeply understood the basic meaning of Christ Jesus' teachings. Jesus lived to love. His ministry was devoted to uplifting, healing, and comforting his fellowmen. Christian Science has come to reveal the spiritual law underlying his compassionate words and works, and to show how we too may gain something of this divine tenderness, this love of Love, and then heal through its means.
God, divine Love, is the creator of all. He is perfect Mind, and includes within Himself the real identities of all men, holding them in changeless concord throughout eternity. Disease, then, must be unreal because unknown to creative Love, whose allness precludes the possibility of anything unlike itself. Because of this, what seems to be suffering is only a mortally mental phenomenon, a belief in lack of love, and the grateful recognition of the warmth and tenderness of the all-encompassing Father-Mother will blot out this discordant sense.
