"Never plead guilty"

Man is not condemned to sickness! No matter how overwhelming the evidence against one, many truths of redemption appear at hand to bring about complete release when one understands his true selfhood to be spiritually intact as God's image and likeness. These truths are available through Christian Science, God's law, the application of which must eventually result in the proof of universal harmony and good.

The Christianly aspect of Christian Science is seen in the growing understanding of man's spirituality, in the blessed peace and freedom it is bringing daily and hourly to mankind. Its Science is denoted in the spiritually exact application of its rules and laws, which are discerned through study and reason as well as through revelation, and which result in conclusive proofs of healing and harmonious adjustment.

Few would deny that health is a vital concern of many individuals today—how to regain it, how to improve it, and how to maintain if. As an initial step in a better realization of true health Mrs. Eddy admonishes in Science and Health, "When the body is supposed to say, 'I am sick,' never plead guilty." Science and Health, p. 391; This radical stand allows for no qualifications. And we must back this practice up by the understanding of why man is not guilty, why he is not condemned to sickness and suffering.
