Loosing the Holds of Time

Christian Science reveals the omnipresence and omnipotence of God, good, and thereby denies any presence or power to God's suppositional opposite, evil. Perhaps because the Christian Scientist is only beginning to prove that evil has no real presence, evil seems at times to dim his awareness of present good by subtly claiming an active past or an ominous future. Yet what are the past and future but vivid mental pictures presently entertained? One is always in the present. In reality no one can ever step outside of the unceasing unfoldment of divine Love's omnipresence. If, however, one consents to be mesmerized by evil suggestions which assume the authority of an unalterable past or an unavoidable future, then one's conscious identification with Love's infinite ever-presence as its idea necessarily becomes clouded.

The Bible states the spiritual fact succinctly: "That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past." Eccl. 3:15 A hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal echoes the same truth:
