When I was about seven years...

When I was about seven years old, my mother was introduced to Christian Science by a friend. She asked me if I should like to attend a few Christian Science Sunday School sessions, saying that if I liked them, I could attend the Sunday School permanently. This was the greatest gift my mother could have given to me, and in the years since, it has proved to be more valuable to me than if she had given me a fortune in material wealth. I am very grateful for having been able to attend a Christian Science Sunday School; the lessons I learned there never fail to meet my need, whatever it is.

About two years ago I was married. I am at present serving with the Armed Forces, and, considering the pay I receive, it might seem as if it would be very hard for married people to get by. However, we have looked only to God for our supply, as we learned to do in the Sunday School, knowing that true substance is spiritual, and not only have we had our needs met, but we have had many of the extras which, had we accepted a sense of limitation, would not have been possible for us to obtain. One of these was class instruction last year, which I traveled all the way across the United States to take.

Quite recently I hurt my back while working in a telephone exchange. I prayed all day and part of that night, and the condition improved. The next day at work, however, it again began to give me a great deal of trouble, and I knew from experience that if time off for illness or anything of this nature is requested, one must go on sick call. I reasoned that it would be better to continue to work for the rest of the day.
