I have had the privilege of being...
I have had the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church and a branch church for a number of years, but it was not until recently that I earnestly began the study of Christian Science. Since that time, I have had many blessings for which I am very grateful.
There have been healings of various physical problems, inharmonious relationships, and discord in the home; but more valuable to me than these is the fact that I am gaining a better understanding of God and of man's true relationship to Him as His spiritual image and likeness. I have found that the statement by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 410), "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger," is certainly true. Love meets us where we are and takes us on.
Our young daughter was across the street playing with some other children when our son came home crying that his sister had been bitten by a dog. I ran from the house and took the child from the neighbor and carried her into the house. I laid her on the bed and immediately called a Christian Science practitioner, whose first words to me were, "Forgive the dog that did it."
