About seven years ago my husband...
About seven years ago my husband passed on very suddenly. While I was speaking to an advanced student of Christian Science about this, he reminded me that I could turn even this experience to the praise and glory of God. I earnestly endeavored to lift my thought to God's allness and away from sadness and loss.
At first this seemed a difficult task, but the Christian Science practitioner who was helping me encouraged me to go forward, confident of the Father's ever-present love. My thought was uplifted, and inspiration soon followed. I felt comforted and sustained to such a degree that within two days when it was necessary for me to meet my husband's business associates, who appeared shocked and quite disturbed on hearing of his passing, I was able to comfort them quite freely.
Meantime, my sister from California came to stay with me. Knowing that prior to my becoming a student of Science an experience like this would have overwhelmed me, she was astonished to find me quietly attending to necessary business and the household affairs, free from any sense of sadness. Here she saw the Science of Christianity in action and God's love made manifest.
